Week 2 eSeries Preview - South Boston

Week 2 eSeries Preview - South Boston

This week, both the KOD Disposal Ontario Legends eSeries and the Hastings Marine Service Rookie eSeries tackle the 4/10ths of a mile Speedway in South Boston, Virginia.

Its the Debut of the Hastings Marine Service Rookie eSeries on Monday night utilizing the iRacing Rookie Legend car which has no setup options, hence we will be using the default setup. We'll be using regular iRacing rules and in game officiating. Any series member can run.

On Wednesday, April 8th, the KOD Disposal Ontario eSeries will also tackle South Boston using the default iRacing South Boston setup. This will be the final week of fixed setup in the Wednesday series. Practice using Late Afternoon setting at an air temp of 68 degrees.

On Tuesday, there will be an open test session for the Wednesday race from 7pm to 11pm courtesy of Thorsons EVT.

iRacing has thrown a wrinkle into this week as "Caution Laps Don't Count" setting is not working at the moment and green-white-checker finishes in game cannot be used when using a heat race format. As the Monday series will use iRacing officiating, I will be turning on iRacing cautions. We'll wait until Wednesday to see if iRacing offers a hot fix before finalizing the race format.

Race format for the week:
46 car cap (raised from last weeks 40)
75 minutes of practice (Starts at 7:00pm)
2 Timed Qualfiying Laps (Starts at 8:15pm)
4 10 lap heats - Cautions off*
2 x 30 lap B Features - Cautions off*
1 x 45 lap A Feature - Cautions On*
* CAUTION SETTINGS SUBJECT TO CHANGE FOR WEDNESDAY**

If over 26 show - 2 B Features with 13 drivers making the A Feature..
If under 26 show, twin A features with everyone making both.

The Wednesday Race will be broadcast LIVE once again by Turn 3 Racing Network: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UClfGu5hYmWJEYfora9mh5Og

Entries to the series are now on a case-by-case basis. Those who ran last Wednesday are locked into the Series. Those with a real life connection to the real OLS series as either an active or former real life series driver, official or team member to be given new entries.

Drivers from last Wednesday with no connection to a real life OLS team may be assigned a real life team to represent going forward. A few already have... see below.

Also, if you are a real life active team (2020 OLS Membership) and you can't make a race, you are allowed a sub driver for one race running your number and team colours. Gotta have some perk of being a member at this point.

Race Director Brandt Graham has taken suggestions from last week and will post a Virtual Drivers Meeting Wednesday morning with the changes.

Team signings:
Ross Sortino remains in the #20 next weel representing Cole McFadden and Andrew McFadden's Grassroots Motorsports.

Scott Brooks is looking to debut this week in the #49 of Miles Tyson.

Brian Neff to run continue in the #06 (since I haven't figured out how to do two 17s yet) next week, but will be running for Brad Haufe from Haufe Racing and as a teammate to Ronald Henrie who is running the #7 for Matt Haufe.
